Adapting to Climate Change in Darfur

Climate change retreat | 23-24 March 2010

The United Nations Resident Coordinator's Support Office, in partnership with the Ministry of Environment and Physical Development, the Forests National Corporation, the United Nations Development Programme, and the United Nations Environment Program, hosted a retreat on climate change adaptation in Darfur, on March 23-24 2010 in El Fasher, North Darfur.

The meeting provided a unique opportunity for decision makers from the Government of Sudan, the United Nations, and international partners to discuss the challenges climate change presents the people of Darfur in the coming years and learn more about how communities across the Sahel are adapting and thriving.

This site serves to organize documents, presentations and contacts related to the retreat. For more information please contact the United Nations Resident Coordinator' Support Office or the United Nations Environment Programme in Sudan.
